Exciting Announcement and...."The Date"

First, I have a VERY exciting announcement for you. The fabulously talented and super sweet Denise ( Peanutbee on SCS) will be joining The Dream Team in November! Woo hoo! If you aren't already familiar with Denise, you MUST visit her blog, The Paper Landscaper . Denise is currently a member of the Dirty Dozen at Splitcoast. She and her husband of 10 years live in Southeastern Pennsylvania and are the proud parents of two sweet little girls, fondly nicknamed Peanut and Bee.

Welcome, Denise! I am thrilled that you will be joining the already awesome Dream Team, and I can't wait for you to get started! :-)

Today is the last day you can register for one of the Dreamy Treats. I am giving away a C-45 Monogram Stamper to one lucky winner. And since my counter went over 100,000 hits, I am also going to give away a Curlz Font and Border Kit . This is your fourth and last chance to register...so be sure not to miss out! I will post the two lucky winners tomorrow night. Keep your fingers crossed that Ike doesn't take away my Internet connection! The winds have really picked up here in the last hour or so!

Okay....because MANY of you asked, I'm going to give you a few details about *the date*. Gosh, I'm sure glad he doesn't read my blog! LOL!

Since I didn't receive any counsel from Paperlicious I had to wing it. I finally settled on what to wear. It was a scoop neck top with a matching short skirt. I chose that because I have big boobs, and am always complimented on my legs. Mind you, all the parts in between leave a lot to be desired! I wore my favorite Sex In The City heels, and felt as if I was pretty presentable. I also made sure I smelled really good. Men tend to like that, as I best recall.

He arrived on time. So far, so good. The first "issue" was that he had changed his mind about where we should go to dinner. He wanted Chinese food, and asked me if that was okay. It wasn't. Then he suggested Italian food, and I agreed. He opened my doors, and did all the right things to show me he is a gentleman. I like that, and quite frankly it's required so far as I'm concerned.

Before we left for the restaurant he asked for a tour of the house. Fortunately I had made my bed that morning and didn't have any dirty underwear laying on the floor! When we got to my studio I heard him gasp. I could tell he hadn't a clue even before he asked. I showed him a card I made recently, then showed him the rubber stamp I used to make it. His reply was, "Well I'll be damned!" What does that tell you???

The restaurant was quiet and nice. We have many friends in common, so we had a lot to talk about. He brought me up to date on what's going on with many of them that I haven't seen in a while. Then the subject of politics came up, so I asked him what he thought about the Presidential race and Sarah Palin. It kinda went downhill there for a bit!

When we left the restaurant he took me to his house to show me his collection of antique cars. He has two separate garages that are about 4,500 sq ft EACH, and they are filled with probably 35-40 antique cars, and 3 Harleys. There is NO TELLING how much all that cost, nor what it's worth. And I thought MY hobby was expensive!

He is a big Harley Davidson guy, so I asked why he has three Harleys. He replied that if one is good, two is better...and three is perfect. He said the next time we go out he would like to pick me up on one of them. ARE YOU KIDDING ME????? I have been behind a Harley before and seen the butt of the woman riding on the back. Even the skinny girls butts look huge sitting on those things! I don't EVEN think I need to expose mine like that! And do you know what those helmets do to your hair?

All things considered, it was a nice evening. Good company, good conversation (except for the Palin thing), and a great meal.

Will I ever hear from him again? Who knows! Men can be fickle.

Thanks for stopping by! I will be back tomorrow night (Ike willing) with the two winners!

My husband rides a motorcycle and so I have experienced "helmet hair" first hand. Only acceptable when going to a bike event so everyone is in the same situation.
Thanks for the chance to win this stamp set. I have been eyeing it for some time now.

Loved the run down on your date! Sounds like a good time to me! You may be a biker babe after all these years..woo hoo......

Glad you had a good time. I agree about riding on the back of a Harley or any motorcycle for that matter. There is now way I am getting on the back of one, maybe ride one by myself though.

I have been thinking about you, Michelle and wondering how the date went so am very glad that you posted about it. It sounds like it was ok!! Are you interested in going out again with him if he calls? (I'm sure he will--who can resist a girl with stamps?) Keep us in the know. I sure hope I never need to worry about dating again. I am 60 and that is much too old to think about it!!!

Well first of all, congrats to you for adding Denise to your design team! I LOVE her work and she'll be a wonderful addition to those awesome designers you already have. WTG Denise!!!
Secondly, if you ever get tired of your REAL job, or stamping, you can always go into the field of writing! I really enjoyed today's post as well as the previous one - describing your "date". You are too funny, and I've never given a thought to what my butt might look like on the back of a Harley until you pointed that out! Now I'm glad I'm too old to ride! ROFL!!
As for the Palin thing - I wouldn't be too hasty there. Remember that old catch phrase "opposites attract?" *snort*

from the harley comment, it sounds like he's at least considering taking you out again. Stick to your guns on not taking the bike, though. Helmet hair on a date would just suck! :)

Sounds like an interesting evening! Glad you avoided IKE. He came to my house instead! We made it fine; must admit I kept wondering if I'd grab stamping "stuff" or famiy photos if things got nasty! Glad I didn't have to pick! Would LOVE to win some of the Blog Candy. I'm really lusting for the JustRite stuff.

Congratulations to Denise on joining The Dream Team. Sounds like your date was rather interesting. I'm not quite sure why he would want a tour of your house though. If he asks will you go out with him again? Thanks for the chance to win your awesome candy too.

Thank you for the opportunity to win the Justrite and blog candy.

You have courage to go on a date. If single, I don't know if I would at my age.

It is nice that he has hobbies and other interests.

Well the date sounds like it was interesting. Will you go again is the question? Would love to win.

I'm glad that Denise will be part of your Dream Team as her work is wonderful! Your date sounded like it went pretty good for a first date; I hope that he calls again if you want him to. Thanks for the chance to win this blog candy and for sharing your talent with all of us!

You're so brave - I don't even remember how to date! Thanks for the update! Yeah, those antique cars are quite pricey - a whole lot more than a teeny tiny rubber stamp!

Thanks for the update on your date. And thanks for the chance to win!

Congrats on your hits and your new dream team member--she has a nice blog. Glad to hear the update on your date. We were all anxiously waiting to hear how it went. Thanks for the chance to win again!

Congrats on all the posts! Sounds like your date went okay - wouldn't catch me on the back of a Harley either, but I know lots of gals who swear that it's as much fun as some other activities you can do with men! ~chris

a Harley? Oh dear :-) I'm not sure if I would want him to call back or not! Love your posts...congrats on Denise joining the team!

I am glad you gave us the scoop on the date. I was hoping it went well. Sounds like it was okay. :-) Can't wait to see who wins!

Sounds like you had an interesting and enjoyable date. Motorcycle? We call them murdercycles... too dangerous to be riding. One very nice thing about being single is not having to deal with someone else's issues... or to have to hide what you buy. Love all the things I am seeing made with the Just Rite Stamper. I really need to win one.

Sounds like you had a great time. I think he is gonna ask again or he wouldn't have made the comment about picking you up on the Harley.

Car guys are cool...I'm married to one...lol. They can't say anything about how much you spend on your hobby, cuz that would cause problems for them when they get ready to spend on their car :)

what a story:)

Well, that sounds like a pleasant enough evening. I would have loved to see his face when you saw your studio! I love how people can be so shocked when they see the amount of stuff a crafter can accumulate. No comparison to his car hobby though. I hope you get a chance to go out with him again!

Adding Denise to your team is a GREAT add! I love her style! Thanks for sharing your date with us - I was wondering how it went! Thanks for one more chance to win a Just Rite stamper too!

Congrats Denise !

Thanks for the "date update" ! :) First dates are often awkward...yours doesn't sound too bad. Politics probably isn't the best topic of conversation!

Just hang loose and see how it goes.... if you liked him....

did you? How did you feel about him?

Sounds like he has quite a hobby himself! LOL

Happy Sunday!

If it works out, sounds like you might have to get some harley stamps and car stamps... : )

Oh Michelle! What a fun post to read! But wait....I take issue with you about women on Harleys! Ok...ok...you ARE right about the butt issue, but I've been really trying to convince myself that mine doesn't look big on my Harley. Oh dear....I must look like a wide load when I'm out! LOL

Great news too about Denise joing the dream team. I love her work, as well as yours and all of your designers.

Now give the Harley a second chance. If I can do it I depend on my sisters/friends to too!
