Birthday Martini

My stash of birthday cards is ridiculously low, so I decided to make a concerted effort to add a few cards to it.

The stamp I used for this card is Impression Obseession's Birthday Martini . I stamped it on Simply Smooth White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. The stamped image was colored with Copic Markers. Yes...you read that right! LOL! I actually used my Copics for something other than coloring rhinestones and pearls. :-)

Using my Quickie Glue Pen for adhesive, I added Mini Rhinestones to the base of the martini glass. Then I put a thin layer of JudiKins Diamond Glaze over it to make it appear glass-like.

The designer paper is from the Basic Grey Lemonade paper pad. The cardstock is Rose Prismatics light and dark.

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by today.

JustRite Wedding Card

A couple of days ago I mentioned that I am going to a wedding this Saturday. I am friends with the groom's parents, as well as the bride and groom, so I decided I wanted to personalize their wedding card so they would know it was made especially for them.

I started with the JustRite Wedding Ensemble . I chose a center, snapped it in my 1 5/8" Wooden Stamper then stamped on light blue cardstock using Encore blue ink. I embossed with JudiKins Detail Clear embossing powder.

The sentiment was cut and embossed using my Inverted Scalloped Circle Nestabilities then layered to a brown scalloped circle.

Using JustRite Times Roman Font I wrote their names and their wedding date then stamped and embossed. The circle layer behind their names is light blue vellum.

The medallions are Fleur De Lis Pendants by Spellbinders. Two were cut from brown cardstock, and two from light blue vellum. The corners are from a Cuttlebug corner die, and the pearls are Kaiser Craft .

The sentiment on the inside is from the Whiff of Joy Wedding Sentiment Collection . It was cut and embossed using my Long Rectangle Nestabilities . The border on the bottom was cut and embossed with the Fleur De Lis Borderabilities .

This was SUCH a fun card to make! I sure hope they like it.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you're having a great week and finding an abundance of mojo!

To the Happy Couple!

Whew! What a weekend! The grands were here...so that's always a hoot! Today I grilled shrimp and made all the trimmings for the troops while the kiddos swam in the pool. I'll bet they sleep well tonight...I know I will! LOL!

I am going to a wedding next weekend, so I need to be thinking about a card for the happy couple as I stamp this week. I bought their gift on Saturday, and it's already wrapped. Nothing like waiting until the last minute, huh?

This sweet image is Whiff of Joy's Willow Bride . I stamped it on watercolor paper using Onyx Black Versafine ink, then embossed with JudiKins Detail Clear embossing powder. The image was cut and embossed using my Labels Four Nestabilities then colored with Tombow Markers .

The frame is Classic Frame Frameabilities cut and embossed in Frosted Pink Prismatics and Crabapple Medium Prismatics . The pearls are Kaiser Craft and the designer paper is Basic Grey Porcelain.

For the inside of the card I used the Wedding Sentiment Collection embossed with Labels Four. I trimmed with a part of the Classic Frame and some Porcelain paper.

I hope your weekend was as good as mine, and that you got half as many hugs and sloppy kisses as I did! LOL! Thanks for stopping by!

JustRite Damask

Thanks for joining us once again for the final day of JustRite Week at Stamper's Dream . If I DO say so myself, The Dream Team has done SUCH a fabulous job! Thanks guys...you are absolutely the best! I could't be more proud...and I hope you know I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

For my card today I just couldn't resist using the new JustRite Damask Centers and Borders set. I just love the new size! I chose an initial and border from the set, then stamped on Neenah Natural White cardstock using green dye ink. I cut and embossed the image with my Spellbinders Octagon Nestabilities .

Those beautiful frames around the monogram are made with the Fleur De Lis Pendant by Spellbinders. I added some Kaiser Craft Pearls to embellish. The border at the bottom was made with the Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Borderabilities .

The designer paper is form the Bella Bella "French Flea Market paper kit. Aren't those colors beautiful? The cardstock is Herbal Garden Prismatics medium and Prismatics Mystics Light.

Now, be sure to go see what awesome projects these ladies have for you today: Cammie , Charmaine , Kimberly

I have had SUCH a great time this week...and I can't thank you enough for joining us! I hope you will come back again soon.

My Daddy's Pickled Okra

My dad has been gone for several years now. And it's funny how we hold on to things that remind us of those we love. It may seem kind of silly, but one of those things for me is Daddy's pickled okra. He always knew how much I loved it, and for many years he made sure my pantry was well stocked! I only have a few jars of it left now...and I know that there won't be anymore coming. So I admit that hoard them. If you are ever a guest in my home, PLEASE don't ask for Daddy's pickled okra. It's much to hard to me to part with. LOL!

To make Daddy's jar of pickled okra pretty, I used the new JustRite Preserves Borders & Centers set with a 2-3/8" Wood Stamper . Using Onyx Black Versafine ink, I stamped on watercolor paper, then embossed with JudiKins Detail Clear embossing powder. The stamped image was colored with Tombow Markers and a damp paint brush. I added a Mini Rhinestone to the center of each flower for a little bling!

To stamp the word "Okra" on the front of the label I used my JustRite Times Roman Uppercase and Times Roman Lowercase font with my JustRite Rectangular Stamper .

Instead of wrapping the designer paper all the way around the jar I made a "label" using my Long Rectangle Nestabilities . You can see it better in the picture below.

The designer paper is from the Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday paper kit. The cardstock is Prismatics Nautical Blue medium and light.

I wish I had Daddy's recipe, but to my knowledge he never wrote it down. After doing an Internet search, I found this Pickled Okra Recipe that sounds like it has all the right ingredients. If you try it, be sure to let me know!

The Dream Team has been busy at work making projects for this week. And haven't they done an awesome job??? Applaud! Applaud! Please be sure to see what awesome creations they have for you! Here is the schedule for today and tomorrow:

Thursday - Amy , Denise , Laurie , Cammie and me

Friday - Cammie , Charmaine , Kimberly and me

Thanks for stopping by my blog day! I hope you will join us tomorrow for the last day of JustRite week! Until then...

Peace and Comfort

Welcome to Day Three of JustRite week at Stamper's Dream !

Today's card uses the same stamp set I used yesterday, which is the new JustRite Thinking of You Borders & Centers . I wasn't kidding when I said it was my favorite set from this release!

I stamped the sentiment and border with Versafine Onyx Black ink using a 2-1/4" x 3-1/16" Wooden Stamper . The stamped image was embossed with chocolate brown embossing powder, then cut with oval Nestabilities. The oval in the center was popped up with foam tape. The oval layer behind the border is Sage Prismatics light.
This beautiful designer paper is from the My Mind's Eye Bella Bella French Flea Market paper pack. The card base is Suede Brown Prismatics . I added a couple of Kaiser Craft Pearls to the upper left and lower right to embellish.

Be sure to see what awesome projects the rest of The Dream Team has in store for you! Here is the schedule for today and the rest of this week:

Wednesday - Tosh , Laurie and me

Thursday - Amy , Denise , Laurie , Cammie and me

Friday - Cammie , Charmaine , Kimberly and me

I do so appreciate you taking the time to stop by today!

God's Grace

It's the second day of JustRite week at Stamper's Dream . And we have lots more in store for you the rest of this week.
My card today is using JustRite's new Thinking of You set with the 2-1/4" x 3-1/16" Oval Stamper . I have to confess that it's my very favorite set from this release!

I stamped the border and center on Neenah Natural White cardstock using London Fog Memento ink. I cut and layered them with my oval Nestabilities onto an oval panel cut from Sage Prismatics light cardstock. It was then layered onto a Suede Brown Prismatics panel cut with Spellbinders Labels Four Nestabilities .

I like to keep my sympathy cards a little understated. So in an effort to keep it simple, I used May Arts Ivory 1.5" Crochet Ribbon , cut a narrow sliver of the Suede Brown cardstock and threaded it through the top and bottom of the crochet ribbon. You can see from the picture above what it looks like with just the top threaded with cardstock. It would also be easy to use embroidery floss to get a little different look.

The pearls are from Kaiser Craft and the designer paper is from the My Mind's Eye French Flea Market paper kit.

Be sure to see what The Dream Team has for you today. Here is the schedule for the rest of this week:

Tuesday - Charmaine , Tosha , Laurie , Cammie and me

Wednesday - Tosh , Laurie and me

Thursday - Amy , Denise , Laurie , Cammie and me

Friday - Cammie , Charmaine , Kimberly and me

Thanks for stopping by today!
