Stamper's Dream JustRite Challenge

Stamper's Dream is sponsoring the JustRite Challenge this week! Keep reading for all the details!

This is my sample for the challenge. I used an image from the NEW JustRite Let's Celebrate stamp set. I stamped the lion image on watercolor paper, then colored with Tombow Markers . I cut out the image and mounted it on Classic Yellow Prismatics square. The orange cardstock used is Intense Orange Prismatics.

The sentiment from that set was stamped on a yellow scalloped square cut and embossed using my NEW Big Scalloped Squares . The designer paper is from the Basic Grey Lime Rickey 6 x 6 paper pad.

Be sure to see even more challenge inspiration from Amy , Cammie , and Tosha .

Now, for the challenge details! The winner will receive a $50 Gift Certificate to Stamper's Dream . There will also be three honorable mention winners who will win a JustRite stamp set of their choice. Now I don't know of ANYONE who couldn't use that!

You will need to make a card using the sketch, and JustRite stamps. Then you must post your entry to your blog or an online gallery, and link using the new linking system on the JustRite Inspiration Blog challenge post. All the details can be found there as well.

You will have until next Thursday, May 6th at 9am Central to make your project and enter a link to it on the JustRite blog post. Then the winner will be chosen and announced a little later that day on the JustRite Inspiration Blog, as well as here on the Stamper's Dream blog.

So...get busy making those cards! We would love to have you play along!

I will be back Monday with The Dream Team for a full week of JustRite projects using their newest release. We hope to see you then!

Lovin' & Huggin'

I think these lovin' ducks are so cute!
The stamp is from Penny Black, and it's one of their cling mounted stamps called Loving and Hugging . I stamped on watercolor paper using Onyx Black Versafine ink, then embossed with JudiKins Detail Clear embossing powder. The stamped image was colored using Tombow Markers and a damp paint brush for blending.

I cut and embossed using square Nestabilities. The red frame is Spellbinders Big Scalloped Square Nestabilities .

The sentiment is from the JustRite Loving Thoughts borders and sentiments set. The red frames above and below it are smaller Big Scalloped Square Nestabilities cut and placed diagonally. I added Mini Rhinestones and Red Burlap String to embellish.

The designer paper is from the Basic Grey June Bug paper pad. The cardstock is Classic Yellow and Classic Red Prismatics .

Please be sure to join us on Friday. Stamper's Dream is sponsoring the JustRite Challenge this week, so will be back with the challenge details and a PRIZE for the lucky winner! I hope to see you then!

Just Me

Hi there! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. Sadly, it's Monday again, and back to work for most of us!

I found a little stamping time this weekend, and created this card from the newly released Hero Arts Artists Proofs images. The flower is from the Real Flowers clear design set. Oh...so many pretty stamps in that set! I inked the flower with various VersaMagic Chalk Inks , spritzed with water and stamped on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. The leaves were punched from a Punch Bunch punch, then edged with Tea Leaves VersaMagic ink for added depth.

The sentiment is from the Hero Arts Just Find Me clear stamp set. It was stamped with Jumbo Java VersaMagic ink, then embossed with JudiKins Detail Clear embossing powder.

The designer paper is Basic Grey Origins. The cardstock is Classic Yellow Prismatics distressed with Wild Honey Distress Ink (LOVE THAT COLOR!). The the card base is Suede Brown Dark Prismatics .

Thanks for stopping by! I hope your day is a great one!

You Make Me Smile

Hi there! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

It rained here Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday, so my plans to work in the flower beds have been delayed. Instead, I did a little stamping! Hmmmm...cleaning flower beds or stamping? Not a tough choice, really! :)

The flower and leaves on this card are from the Hero Arts Big Flowers clear design set. The leaves were stamped on Frosted and Intense Kiwi Prismatics cardstock, then cut out. I enhanced the color on two of the leaves by coloring the edges and dots with a #133 Chartreuse Tombow Marker .

The flower was stamped twice. Once on Classic Red Prismatics , and once on the yellow dotted paper from the Jack & Jill paper collection by My Mind's Eye. Portions of the yellow flower were cut away, then I used the #133 Tombow again to enhance the green loops on the flower. The white dots on the red flower were colored in using my White Opaque Pen from Ranger.

The sentiment is from the JustRite Seeds of Kindness stamp set. I just love having that set to go with all my flower images! It was cut and embossed using Spellbinders Labels Twelve .

The bottom edge and decorative band were cut using Spellbinders Ric Rac Diamond Borderabilities . The yellow cardstock layer is Sunflowers Medium and the card base is Classic Red Prismatics . All designer paper is from the My Mind's Eye Jack & Jill paper kit.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

An Artiste...

I am NOT!
But I will admit it was a lot of fun painting on canvas with acrylics. Much different from rubber stamping a card, for sure! I'm not sure what I will do with it. I'm certain that I won't frame it, but maybe I can find a place for it to hang in my garage. Ha!

I lifted this picture from Romy's Facebook page. I was tagged in this photo, but didn't know she was taking the picture because I was so intense working on my painting. I'm the one with her head down on the right, third from the bottom.

The girl on the left is my best friend's daughter Megan who is getting married in July. I'm making her shower invitations...more about that later. The one in the middle is my best friend Nina, and the one on the right is our friend Sherri.

This is our friend Romy on the left, who sat straight across from me during the class. She is such a hoot!

I highly recommend taking a class at Painting With A Twist . If there is one in your area be sure to check it out!

Thanks for stopping by. I will be back tomorrow with something crafty. Until then...

Bon Appetit

I've been cooking again!
Tonight I am going to a painting class with a group of friends. Now it's not what you think. This is a company called Painting With A Twist . We will all be painting with acrylics on canvas while we sip wine and enjoy snacks. Since we are supposed to bring the snacks I made my favorite Gazpacho recipe. My best friend asks me to make this ALL the time! This recipe is low cal and low fat. But we will be eating it with chips like salsa, rather than as a soup. Just use less water than called for in the recipe and spice it up a bit more with jalapenos and Tabasco sauce. Yum-O!

The main image on this recipe is from the Inky Antics set called Prepping Chefs . It was stamped on watercolor paper and colored with Tombow Markers . The Bon Appetit sentiment is from the MFT set called Clearly Sentimental About Food .

The cardstock I used is Classic Red , Classic Yellow and Intense Kiwi Prismatics. The little green button is from the Tiny Tropical Buttons collection. The Red Burlap String is from May Arts.

This is the gazpacho I made for tonight, and my recipe card in the Recipe Album I made from a Cardkeepers Kit . I have SO been enjoying my album, and I am making good progress in filling it up with my most favorite recipes!

Thanks for stopping by today. Be sure to let me know if you try to Gazpacho recipe.

Play Ball!

No, it's not a baseball card, if that's what you thought!
It's Sarah Kay's Jean-Luc Playing Ball With Claude . Have you noticed that their newest collection of stamps have longer names? I mean, some of them are really long! I digress.

Since I have four grandsons, these little boy images will really come in handy for me! I stamped Jean-Luc on watercolor paper using Onyx Black Versafine ink, then embossed with JudiKins Detail Clear embossing powder. The image was colored with Tombow Markers then cut and embossed with Spellbinders Labels Eight Nestabilities .

That gorgeous designer paper is from the Kaisercraft Reminiscing paper kit. The cardstock is Mystic Prismatics , and the twill is Natural 5/8" Heavyweight . The buttons were threaded with Natural Burlap String .

Well, it's definitely Monday again. I hope you had a fabulous weekend and that you're happier about it being Monday that I am! Ha!

Thanks for stopping by. I have several things for you this week, so I do hope you will come again.

A Daisy A Day...

The stamp I used for today's card is Impression Obsession's Daisies cling mount stamp. There is just something you have to love about daisies!

I stamped the image on watercolor paper using Onyx Black Versafine ink, then embossed with JudiKins Detail Clear embossing powder. I colored with Tombow Markers using a damp paint brush to blend.

The image was cut and embossed using Spellbinders Labels Eight Nestabilities , then the edges were distressed with Tea Dye Distress Ink .

The designer paper is from the Basic Grey Origins 6 x 6 paper pad. The yellow cardstock is Sunflowers Medium Prismatics .

I hope you all have a fabulous Friday, and a great weekend. As for me, I will be cleaning out the flower beds and stamping (I hope?)

Thanks for stopping by!

My Feathered Friends

So sorry, but I don't have a card for you today. I've been concentrating on getting The Gallery at Stamper's Dream caught up with all those pretty cards The Dream Team has been making for you!

I've also been busy ordering new stamps. The April releases from Flourishes will be in the store soon. I have an order from Holly Berry House which has already shipped, so it should be here in a few days. New stamps from the Pure Innocence collection by My Favorite Things have been ordered as well. AND Hero Arts is releasing a new collection called Artists Proofs, so I spent last evening ordering LOTS of those gorgeous beauties.

I wanted to show you my feathered friends, who are visiting for the third consecutive year. Sorry for the fuzzy foto, but it was taken this morning about 6:30 am. I was still on my first cup of java! :)

Actually, they have been dropping in for about three years now, always about this time of year. See THIS POST in April of 2007.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope to be back soon with something creative! Until then...

The Kindness of Others...

A few weeks ago I received a call from a customer who had a some questions about products in the store. Not at all unusual. It happens all the time. But this was different.
Her name is Ann. She is a very sweet lady, and we connected immediately. We shared a lot of stories with one another, laughing and chatting away! In the process of our visit I learned that in addition to card making Ann also teaches bookmaking classes. I have ALWAYS wanted to learn about bookmaking!!! Years ago I bought Yes Glue, an Awl, linen thread, and I already have a bone folder...all the tools of the trade. But that's as far as I ever got. (Now don't tell me that never happened to you.) So my curiosity about bookmaking spurred on the conversation even further. Now I was the one who had the questions for her!

Ann was scheduled to have shoulder surgery soon, but before her surgery she said she wanted to send me something...her most favorite book! She told me that she is of the age where she has realized that we all have something to share that could bring joy to others. And she wanted to share it with me.

I feel truly honored and privileged to have met Ann. She enriched my life in so many ways, and reminded me that we all should unselfishly share just a little bit more with others. I will treasure this special book forever, and remember her kindness fondly. Ah yes...the kindness of others!

This is a picture of the spine. Isn't it the most beautiful thing? It has 6 signatures, beautifully sewn and bound into this gorgeous binding.

I just had to share! Thanks for indulging me. And thanks to my friend Ann. She is truly an extraordinary lady. I am indeed blessed by so many of you. You know who you are. Thank you for the special meaning you bring to my life!
