A Louisiana Christmas Card!

I have loved this stamp since I first saw it. You see, the Pelican is the state bird for Louisiana, so it makes the *perfect* Louisiana Christmas card, doesn't it?
The image is Impression Obsession's Winter Pelican . I stamped it three times...once on watercolor paper, once on Twilight Prismatics Light, and once on Twilight Prismatics Medium .

The image stamped on watercolor paper was cut out and colored with Tombow Markers then blended with a damp paint brush.
In this image you can see where I cut apart the two impressions stamped on Twilight cardstock, and put them together at the water line.

This lats image shows you how I placed the pelican image, before it was watercolored.

I added some Stardust Stickles to the water line and waves, and put a little Liquid Applique on his hat.

The red cardstock used is Prismatics Classic Red and the blue is all three shades from the Prismatics Twilight Trio .

I hope your week is off to a good start! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by my blog today!

Great card! Thank you for showing how you put the different layers together. I'm a visual person so reading how you did it doesn't always click as well as seeing it.

That's fabulous how you used 2 different colored cardstocks to create this card! All that detailed cutting and coloring REALLY makes for one fantastic card! Whew! I bet that took some serious time:)
