Still Sittin' Here

Just for fun, I decided to use the same stamps from my last post, and kick it up a notch. The card posted yesterday was one I made a couple of years ago for a class I was teaching at the store. Back then, we didn't have Nestabilities or Marvy punches in all those different sizes. And I guess my style has changed a bit since then too.

The main image is actually three separate stamps from Impression Obsession's Beach Fun clear stamp set. I stamped them on watercolor paper using Versafine Onyx Black ink, then embossed with JudiKins Detail Clear embossing powder.

The stamped images were colored with Tombow (water based) markers. I stamped the hat from the center girl again, cut it out and popped it up with Scotch Mounting Tape to add a little dimension. The sentiment is from Impression Obsession's Anytime Sentiments clear stamp set.

The edges of the main panel were aged with Ranger Distress inks. All the squares were cut with Nestabilities square dies.

I used my Janome Mini Sewing machine to stitch around the edges of the Flair Designs designer paper, then distressed the edges of the paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by tonight. I hope you all have a great week!

you really have kicked it up a notch from yesterdays card! I love the stitching around the edges and the little hat that's popped up. These are really cute stamps and the little fish and waves on the dp is too cute! GJ, TFS!

The stitching and distressing really makes this card. True, your style has changed but you've always had great style...then and now.

Can you tell me how you distress the edges of your cardstock? Do you tear, sand or have a special tool? Whenever I try to do this I ruin the whole card but yours is "perfectly distressed." I just GET distressed! LOL
