Masculine Birthday Card

Masculine cards are really difficult for me. I always want to add ribbon or something really pretty, which doesn't work for guys.

When I started this card, this is not where I thought I was going with it. I don't know about you, but I will admit that happens for me a lot!

The background stamp is from Paper Inspirations. It's called Cat Tails . I colored it with Tombow markers then spritzed with water and stamped it on cream colored cardstock. The birthday stamp is also from Paper Inspirations, and is called Birthday Calligraphy . I stamped it with Versafine Onyx Black ink, then embossed with detail clear embossing powder.

The background paper is from My Mind's Eye. I used a little Vintage Photo distress ink to age it, as well as sponging the ink around the edges of the cream birthday panel.

Even though this wasn't what I initially thought I was going to do with this card, it has grown on me, and I like it. Now I just need a worthy man to send it to! LOL!

I hope you all have a great Friday!

NEW RUBBAH!

When I got home from the office tonight there was a large box on my front doorstep. And I just knew it was from Stampendous. Love, love, love it......NEW RUBBAH!

I have all the new images uploaded and in the store now. You can see them here .

The stamp in the card I have posted is called Tiers of Treats . I stamped in on watercolor paper using my Versafine Onyx Black ink pad. Then I colored the image using Tombow markers, and doodled around the edges with a permanent black pen. Just for fun, I added Stickles Glitter Glue on the cupcakes for a little sparkle. And since more is more, I put a bit of JudiKins Diamond Glaze on the cherries for dimension.

I think the rest is self explanatory, so I won't bore you with all the details.

This was a fun card to make, maybe because it is so cheery. And I AM going to send this to someone. I just haven't decided who that is yet.

Thanks for checking in. Have a great Thursday!

Watercolor Cone Flower

First and foremost, I want to thank all of you for your birthday wishes. You have no idea how much that means to me. Isn't it amazing how a few kind words go such a long way. :-)

I received a shipment of stamps from Paper Inspirations this week. I DO love their stamps! Be sure to check out my website here to see them all.

The one I used on this card is one of my all time favorites, and is called Watercolor Cone Flower . I colored the rubber with Tombow markers, spritzed with water using a JudiKins Fine Mist Spritzer , then stamped on glossy cardstock three different times.

I'm not so sure I like the photo corner I made, but I needed something to balance with the thank you in the lower left hand corner. I'm going to have to let that grow on me a bit, I think.

Thanks for stopping by. I do so appreciate you all. And thanks for helping me celebrate another year!

Birthday by the Beatles

I don't know why the volume isn't working on my birthday video. Oh well...this is second best! Today IS my birthday. :-)

Just Sittin' Here

The moment I got Patch (the puppy) in the mail, I knew I wanted him to be sitting on the stump. For some reason it's taken him a while to get up there! LOL!

I didn't have much time to play today, but I did put together this little scene made from A Muse stamps.

This is a little tricker that it looks, because you have to think ahead to plan for your masking. I stamped the Tree Stump first, then masked it. After that I stamped the Grass twice with green ink, then masked the grass while I stamped the flowers.

I could have quit, but oh no...more is more, so I added the cute little Caterpillar for extra measure. Since I knew I was going to color him green, I didn't do any masking. The green marker covers the grass behind him.

The sun is a 1.5" circle punch, then I added a bit of Yellow Stickles Glitter Glue for a little piazza.

The verse is also from A Muse, and I've used it on several different cards. It's called Sittin' Here .

I know you all had a wonderful weekend, feel completely rested, and are looking forward to a fantastic Monday. (Yeah...right!)

Until tomorrow........

A Shower!

One of the girls that works in my office is having a baby boy, so we're having a shower for her at the office next week. Since I'm giving her a gift card, I thought I needed a little something special to put it in.

This stamp is from A Muse Artstamps. One of the things I like about it (besides the fact that it's adorable) is that it's appropriate for any kind of shower whether it's girl, boy, wedding, etc.

I stamped the image on watercolor paper with Versafine Onyx Black ink then embossed with JudiKins Detail Clear embossing powder.

The stamped image was colored using Tombow markers, and the background was created using a Cuttlebug Baby embossing folder. Since I don't own many baby stamps, the Cuttlebug folder was the perfect touch for my background.

I'm posting a little earlier than usual. I'm having a birthday in a few days, so some friends are taking me to dinner tonight. Yes...ANOTHER birthday. And there is no way I can be 39 AGAIN! LOL!

Thanks for checking in.
