Brimming With Love by Penny Black

You know how much I adore Penny Black stamps just goes without saying! They are fun, cute, adorable, and they just make me smile.

This one is no exception. It's from Penny Black's newest release called Brimming With Love . I stamped it on white marl paper using Onyx Black Versafine ink, then embossed with JudiKins Detail Clear embossing powder. The image was colored using Tombow Markers and a damp paint brush.

The designer paper is from the Basic Grey Bittersweet paper pad which was released lst year. I DO need to use up some of my paper! The sentiment is Penny Black's You Make Me Smile stamped on Pink Prismatics cardstock. It was layered onto a Spellbinders Fancy Tag cut from Suede Brown Prismatics cardstock. The Pink Burlap String threaded through the Basic Grey button is from May Arts.

I hope you're all having a great week! With the holiday on Friday it's going to be a short one! Woo hoo!

I appreciate each and every one of you. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Christmas at Mimi's

Just a quick post to share a few pictures with you. The first one is my granddaughter Ashlyn. She is four...and good at it! Being the only girl, and the youngest...well, you get the picture!
This is Ryker, age 6. Don't you love it when they are going through that cheesy grin stage? LOL!
The last picture is Christian, 8 and Dylan, 10. They are such good boys...so smart and well mannered. And they are good big brothers to their younger siblings.

It was a great Christmas, and one to remember, for sure. I hope yours was too.

Don't forget that we have A LOT of things on sale in the store. Be sure to check them out in the Sales and Specials section.

I did a little stamping this weekend, so I will be back soon with a card for you. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Willow with Hot Chocolate

Have you finished your Christmas shopping?
I finished mine yesterday, just in the nick of time. I still have to wrap more gifts, but at least the shopping is done! Whew!

I took time out this morning to make this card using Whiff of Joy's Willow with Hot Chocolate unmounted rubber stamp. I have wanted that stamp for quite some time now, so I finally took one out of inventory for myself. :)

I stamped on watercolor paper using Onyx Black Versafine ink, then embossed with JudiKins Detail Clear embossing powder. The stamped image was colored with Tombow Markers and a damp paint brush.

The designer paper is from a K & Company Ancestry Mat Pad I found at Michael's. I cut it using my Spellbinders Labels Eight Nestabilities .

The Gold Woven Velvet Ribbon is from May Arts, as is the 5/8" Teal Sheer ribbon. The button is from the French Twist Bag-O-Buttons .

The cardstock is Island Mist Prismatics medium and dark, and Tawny Light .

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope the rest of your week is a peaceful one, so that you can enjoy the Christmas season.

Christmas Cards

The Christmas party I was hosting was last night...so now that is done I can move on to the next pressing thing. Like Christmas shopping? I shudder to think how much I have yet to do. Can anybody else relate to that?

I wanted to share a few handmade cards I've received from some of my friends. The first is from my dear friend Carol of Our Little Inspirations . In fact, I think maybe I send her that Penny Black image. I LOVE this card with that awesome coloring...thanks Carol!

This card is from my good friend Joan Ervin of Stamping With A Passion . I am SO excited because I will finally get to meet Joan in person next month at CHA! I can't wait!!!

Last but not least is this adorable card from my friend Gabriella of Gabi with an Eye . She is always so supportive and leaves the sweetest comments on my blog. Thanks Gabriella!

Don't I have the nicest friends? :)

Snowman Snuggles - FS149

I hardly ever find the time anymore to play the SCS Featured Stamper challenge, but this morning I allowed myself a little time to play along. Today's featured stamper is Pam124 , and the card I chose to case can be seen HERE .

The main image is Penny Black's Cuddle in Snow , which was colored with Tombow Markers . The sentiment is Impression Obsession's Merry Christmas .

I used a snowflakes embossing folder for the background of the main panel, and the center strip was embossed with the Holiday Ribbons folder.

The red and white snowflakes are were made with Spellbinders Create-A-Flake 1 . The red cardstock is Classic Red Prismatics .

I hope you all have your Christmas shopping finished. As for me, I will be hitting the crowded stores again next weekend. Ugh! But the grands MUST have more gifts! Ha!

Thanks for stopping by today.

We Three Kings

Sorry I've been absent most of the week. I've been working on other things for the store and trying to prepare for a dinner I'm having for 25 people this coming Tuesday. Much to do with decorating, cleaning house...you know the routine! And I DO need to start my Christmas shopping soon! Yikes!

Anyway, I did manage to make this card. I felt the need to color, so I got out my Tombow Markers to watercolor this image. It is one of my most favorite classic Christmas stamps called We Three Kings and it's from Northwoods Rubber Stamps.

The sentiment is Script Merry Christmas also from Northwoods. Isn't that a pretty font? The cardstock is Majestic Purple Prismatics . I used a little gold metallic paper for layering as well.

My friend Tosh made a gorgeous card using this stamp last year. You can see her card on THIS POST .

Thanks for stopping by today!

Who Dat? Who Dat?

My older son is the ULTIMATE Saints fan. This is for him! Love ya Doug! :)

You don't have to be a football fanatic to know that the Saints are 11-0 and remain undefeated this season. All us Louisianians are pretty excited about that. After all...the Saints didn't give us much to cheer about for a lot of years!

To make this card I used the new Decorative 2" Wide Round Borders from JustRite Stampers. When I first saw that fleur de lis border I knew it would be perfect for a Saints card.

I stamped the border on black cardstock using Onyx Black Versafine ink, then embossed with Detail Gold embossing powder.

The "Who Dat?" sentiment combines Times Roman Upper Case and Lower Case font. I stamped on metallic gold paper and embossed using JudiKins Detail Black embossing powder.

The punch is an EK Success border punch.

I will be watching the game this afternoon as the Saints play the Redskins. Let's hope for another win.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

JustRite Week Day 4 - Happy Birthday!

Does anyone EVER have enough birthday cards in their stash??? I am on a mission to add to mine so I'm not always caught in a pinch.

For this one i used a sentiment from the new JustRite Just A Note Borders and Centers set. The border is from the Decorative 2" Wide Borders set. Both were stamped on designer paper from the Breaking Free Paper Kit by My Mind's Eye.

The layers behind the sentiment were cut using Spellbinders Labels Four Nestabilities.

I was trying to impress you with my sewing. Did it work? You know I NEVER do that! LOL! The punched border was using Martha Stewart's New Scallop Edge punch.

The ribbon is May Arts 5/8" Teal Sheer Ribbon , and the pearls are Kaisercraft Teal Pearls .

Please don't miss today's projects from the rest of the Dream Team! Here is the schedule:

Today - Silke , Laurie , and Me

Masculine JustRite Cards

Oh my...I am SO loving these NEW JustRite Square Decorative Frames !
I decided to make a couple of masculine cards since I always have a need for them. And let's face it, they really ARE harder to make because we can't frill them up! LOL!

For this card I used a sentiment from the new Just A Note borders and centers set. I stamped it directly on my designer paper, as well as the square from the Square Decorative Frames set.

The panel behind the sentiment is the same square stamped twice, once on the left and right. I then stamped once again, trimmed it and used it for the decorative pieces on each side.

The designer paper from the 7 Gypsies Gypsy Market Scrap Pad . For a little dimension I added three Kaisercraft Pearls to the bottom. .

My second masculine card is a monogram card for a friend. I used the Times New Roman Font with the Square Decorative Frames .

The Spellbinders die used for the panel behind the monogram is Labels Five Nestabilities . The designer paper is Basic Grey sponged with Peeled Paint Distress Ink. The cardstock is Birchtone Prismatics medium and dark.

You won't want to miss what the rest of the Dream Team has prepared for you! Here is the schedule for today and the rest of the week.

Today - Silke , Denise and Me

Thursday - Silke , Laurie , and Me

JustRite Monogram Gift Set

Thanks for joining us for Day 2 of JustRite week at Stamper's Dream!

One of my very favorite gifts to give is a set of monogrammed cards. And the new JustRite Special Occasions Monogram Kit gives you even more options for unique designs. For this card I used my Spellbinders Labels Four Nestabilities behind the monogram, and added some buttons threaded with Burlap String .

To change up the design a bit, I used a different circle border from the Special Occasions Monogram Kit and used Spellbinders Labels Nine behind the circles. The border strip was made using Spellbinders Lattice Borderabilities . The Mini Pearls are from Zva Creative .

This card uses the new Decorative 2" Round Wide Borders . I also used Spellbinders Labels One Nestabilities Fancy Scalloped Pierceabilities for my border. The Mini Pearls were adhered with my Quickie Glue Pen .

I used the Decorative 2" Wide Round Borders on this card as well. The layer behind the monogram is Spellbinders Labels Five . Mini Pearls were added for dimension.

The designer paper used on all cards is from Cosmo Cricket's Everafter Crafting Kit . The cardstock is Birchtone Prismatics and Sage Prismatics .
