Fall Pumpkin Cart

Sorry I'm a bit late posting tonight, but I got shipments from Impression Obsession and Prism Papers tonight, so I've been working on getting those in the store. Whew!

I am trying to get in a fall frame of mind. Really I am. But with the temperature in the 80's it's kinda hard to get there! So I thought it would help things along to make a fall card. I love the rich colors of fall!

This stamp is Pumpkin Cart by Inkadinkado. And it was a LOT of fun to color!

I stamped it on watercolor paper using Onyx Black Versafine ink, then embossed with JudiKins Detail Clear embossing powder.
The stamped image was colored with Tombow markers and a damp paintbrush. I stamped just the pumpkins and gourd again on a piece of scratch paper, colored them, cut them out and popped them up with foam tape.

The sentiment is Hero Arts Thank You Note . I don't have many vertical sentiments, and I really like to use them sometimes for a nice change of pace. I stamped it on a scrap of Basic Grey Mellow designer paper. The background paper is also Basic Grey Mellow. The brown cardstock is Prismatics Suede Brown Dark and the orange cardstock is Papaya Puree Dark .

To embellish I used my SU! corner punch and added three brads.

That's it for me tonight friends. I'm off to find something for dinner, then wrap some packages for shipping in the morning. With any luck I will get a good nap in tonight since I have an early meeting tomorrow morning.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I appreciate each and every one of you!

Manger Kisses

Is this not just the sweetest image you've ever seen? It makes me smile every time I look at those sweet angels. It's called Manger Kisses and it's made by Stampendous.

I stamped the image on watercolor paper using Onyx Black Versafine ink, then embossed with JudiKins Detail Clear embossing powder.

I colored the stamped image using Tombow (water based) markers. To add a little dimension to the wings I used White Opal Liquid Pearls .

The main panel was cut and embossed with Spellbinders Oval Nestabilities. How did I ever live without my Nestabilities? LOL!

The sentiment is Impression Obsession Merry Christmas . I stamped and embossed it, then cut it out with my Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio die cut. It was the perfect fit!

The ribbon is Offray that I found at WalMart a while back, and the designer paper is Basic Grey Figgy, from last year. I'm trying to use it up some of it before the new Basic Grey Christmas papers get here. Not to worry....it will be a while longer. :-)

So that's it for me tonight. I'm posting a bit earlier than usual so I can make dinner and try to get organized for the coming work week. Where DO the weekends go?

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Dancing Stockings - OCC Guest Designer

I was so excited when Amy Sheffer asked me to be the guest designer for the Our Creative Corner blog challenge! What an honor! So many of those fabulous designers are already my friends...and they ARE super fantastic stampers...so I'm kinda nervous to be in such esteemed company!

The challenge was to use sewing and/or faux stitching on the card. And it had to be any color other than white. So I chose to use the Artful Stamper Dancing Stockings . I LOVE that image...it's so fun!

I inked the stamp with Versamark ink, then embossed with JudiKins Detail Gold embossing powder. Actually, I stamped it twice more on scratch paper to get the center stocking and the tops of all three stockings for layering.

The stamped image was colored with Tombow (water based) markers. I shaded around the stockings with brown to add depth. The top of each stocking was colored and cut out, then popped up with dimensional tape. I also colored the middle stocking and popped it up for added dimension.

After all the coloring and layering was done, I layered the main panel to Dark Majestics Purple Prismatics cardstock. The notecard is also Dark Majestics purple.

The background layer is Majestic Purple Light , Herbal Garden Medium and Classic Red Prismatics cardstock. The Classic Red should be back in stock by the first of the week. I have a shipment en route as we speak...sorry about that!

The Cuttlebug folders I used to emboss the Prismatics Paper are Christmas Ornaments , Swiss Dots , and Argyle .

I pierced the paper using my SU! Mat Pack, and faux stitched using Tombow markers. I decided that was safer than trying to change thread on my Janome three times and stitch a straight line! LOL! To complete the card, I embellished with Stickles Glitter Glue is Yellow , Christmas Red , Stardust , Lime , and Magenta .

The reason for THREE pictures is because I had a heckuv a time getting a good photograph of this card...probably because the gold embossing powder reflects light. But I hope you get the idea and found a little inspiration.

My thanks to the OCC team for having me as their guest designer. It has been my pleasure! Be sure to head on over to the Our Creative Corner blog to see what the other designers have made!

And my thanks to each of you for stopping by. I hope you're having a fantastic weekend!

You gotta see this.....

There is the MOST AWESOME Blog Candy giveaway at Tosh's Blog . You MUST go check it out, and leave a comment for a chance to win! Heck, even I would like to have that stuff...and it came from my store! LOL!

I've been so super busy this week that I haven't made anything to show you tonight. I know...my bad!

But I DID get this super fantastic card in the mail today from Gabriela. She was the winner of the JustRite C-45 Stamper , and she wanted to show her appreciation. Isn't that sweet? Thanks Gabriela! I love the card, and especially your sweet note inside. I just LOVE getting happy mail! You totally made my day! :-)

I got a lot of new things in the store this week, which is part of what kept me from stamping! I LOVE this new Doodlebug Sugar Coating Glitter ! I have the individual colors as well as the variety pack!

I received a LARGE shipment from JustRite Stampers this week! Woo hoo! I have all of their new products in stock new except for one that hasn't shipped yet.

I adore this Baking Stamp Ensemble . It's just perfect for those homemade holiday gifts!

Of course, I think my all time favorite is this new Harmony Rectangle Stamper . I love the idea that you can create any words you want using any of the different JustRite Fonts . It's so versatile!

I also received a shipment from Penny Black this week. I think this little All Creatures stamp is way too cute! I have a feeling I will be inking that one up pretty soon.

I'm working on something new, so be sure to stop back by. And don't forget to comment for Tosh's Blog Candy !

Have you gone to Cammie's Blog to register for her Heart to Heart Blog Candy? It's a wonderful thing she's doing. I'm so proud of that girl! The deadline is Friday, September 26, so ya better hurry!

Thanks for stopping by...I will be back soon!

Changito Shovel

What a day! Things have been super busy at the office, and I ended up working late AGAIN tonight. When I got home I had a Penny Black shipment on my doorstep, so I took care of getting that on the website first. I have lots of emails to answer, and I promise I will...but not until after dinner. I'm STARVED! LOL!

I love the little Changito stamps. This one is called Changito Shovel and it's made by Stampendous.

I stamped it on watercolor paper using Onyx Black Versafine ink, then embossed with JudiKins Detail Clear embossing powder.
The stamped image was colored with Tombow (water based) markers, then cut out with my rectangle Spellbinders Nestabilities. I added Stardust and Icicle Stickles for the snow and to embellish the hat and accents.

The layout is SC193 from a couple of weeks ago. Haven't uploaded the card to SCS yet, but it IS on my list of things to do! Believe me...it's a VERY long list!

If you think you recognize the designer paper from the last card I posted, you're right. It was on my desk, so I just used the scraps here. Now I don't have to put them away....so much easier. Hee he!

The bling is Clear Rhinestones from Kaiser Craft. The cardstock is from Prism Papers .

I know this is kinda short and sweet, but I need to make dinner, watch Dancing With The Stars, and package a few orders before I call it a night.

Thanks so much for stopping by....

What an awesome surprise! Yay for Ann!

LOVE this card! I love the nontraditional Christmas colors you have used, very beautiful!

September 18, 2008 8:13 AM

Congratulations Cat! Please send me your snail mail address and I will get the JustRite Curlz Font & Border Kit right out to you! And my personal thanks to all the rest of you for your sweet comments and for playing along!

Now...on to the card! This adorable image is from the Artful Stamper, called Santa Claus .

Honestly, this card was so, so easy to make! I stamped it on watercolor paper using Onyx Black Versafine ink, then embossed with JudiKins Detail Clear embossing powder. I colored with Tombow (water based markers), adding a little gray shading to his beard.

I used White Liquid Applique on his cap, and sprinkled it with Crystal Ultrafine Glitter by Art Institute Glitter. Then I heat set from the underneath to make it puff a little. I added a thin layer of JudiKins Diamond Glaze to his glasses to give them a glass look.
The sentiment is Ho Border also from The Artful Stamper. I stamped it on acetate using StazOn ink, then placed it over the designer paper piece and attached it with Red Mini Brads .

The red and green cardstock is from Prism Papers . The designer paper is from One Heart One Mind. And it totally made this card super easy.

I had a fun day yesterday. I met a friend for lunch, then we went to see The Women . It was a GREAT movie....but you need to see it with a girlfriend because it is definitely a chick flick!

The wedding was very nice, but I have to admit that I only stayed a respectable amount of time. I was anxious to get home to my stamps! LOL! I must tell you a little secret....I actually bought a card to go with my wedding gift! I know...My bad!

If this post looks a little different in your browser, it's because I'm writing it in Draft Blogger to test scheduling posts for a later date. I haven't done this before, and I have no idea how it works! I do know that it isn't letting me manipulate things as I usually do! Grrrrrr!

I hope you all had a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by! I will be back soon with something new.

Heart to Heart Blog Candy...

In case you haven't heard, my friend and Dream Team member Carolyn King (aka Cammie) designed a stamp set named Whimsical Autumn that was manufactured by Gina K. ALL the proceeds are going to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of her late grandmother.

When Carolyn contacted me about donating a prize from Stamper's Dream I immediately said YES! My best friend's mother is in a nursing home with Alzheimer's, and I know first hand what a cruel disease it is, and the effects it has on the families. Such a worthy cause...and it's so generous of Carolyn to give so much of herself.

Please be sure to check out THIS POST to find out how you can help. And in the process, you can enter to win over $1,000 in blog candy and some very special cards made by some of the most fabulous designers around!

I will be back later tonight with the winner of the JustRite Curlz Font & Border kit!

Pretty Poinsettias...and Dreamy Treat

The stamp on this card is Northwoods Pot with Poinsettia and Pine . I've been dying to color this beauty, so I finally took some time to play with it. Honestly, I was a little intimidated by this stamp after seeing what a fabulous job Tosh did with it in THIS POST . The girl knows how to color like nobody's business! :-)

I stamped the image on watercolor paper using my fave ink, Onyx Black Versafine then embossed using JudiKins Detail Clear embossing powder. Actually, I stamped and embossed twice so I could paper tole some of the flowers to give it a bit more depth,

I colored the stamped image using Tombow (water based) markers and a damp paintbrush. I cut out some of the poinsettias from a second stamping and popped them up using different thicknesses of foam tape. I like the look that gives instead of all of them being the same height.

To finish it off I added some Crystal Art Institute Glitter to the centers and leaves. I used a Quickie Glue Pen for my adhesive. The cardstock is Prismatics in Herbal Garden, Baby Blue and Classic Red.

This is probably your last post to register for the JustRite Curlz Font & Border Kit . I will announce the winner Sunday night.

I have a crazy day tomorrow. I'm having lunch and catching an early movie with my best friend that I haven't seen in about two months! Then I have my Saturday errands. You know, grocery store, bank, dry cleaners, etc. I will rush home after that to get ready for a 6:00 wedding tomorrow night. Don't ask me why, but I DO NOT like to go to weddings. It's one of those obligatory things I can't get out of. So I will get all gussied up on a Saturday night instead of staying home in my comfy clothes stamping. Now be honest...which would you rather do? LOL!

Thanks for stopping by....I hope your Friday is fabulous!

Harmony Angel...and a Dreamy Treat

Before I get to the card, I have to tell you what happened to me today! As I was going through my mail this evening I saw an envelope that I knew wasn't a bill or junk mail. Don't you love it when that happens? It was addressed with a beautiful handwriting and the return address was a residence in Tennessee. I quickly opened it (Happy Mail?) and found a notecard with $10 cash enclosed.

The note read, "Dear Michelle, Last month I ordered some stamps from you. Two of them stuck together and I was only supposed to receive one. I sold the other one for you so here is the money for it. Thank you for shipping so promptly!" HOW SWEET IS THAT? I would have never known had she pocketed the cash, or just given away the set to a friend. Thanks Ann....you made my day with your sweet and kind gesture. I've always known that stampers are the bestest people evah!

The main image on this card is Stampendous Harmony Angel . I stamped it on watercolor paper with Onyx Black Versafine ink, then embossed with JudiKins Detail Clear embossing powder.

The angel was colored using Tombow (water based) markers. I coated her wings with Gold Liquid Pearls .

The sentiment is Christmas Peace . I just love that sentiment!

The cardstock is all three colors from the Crabapple Prismatics paper pack. The background layer was Cuttlebugged using the Joy & Cheer Cuttlebug folder.

I actually got out my little Janome sewing machine and stitched the main panel using brown thread. My corners were pretty crummy looking, so I put gold brads over them to hide the sin.

The ribbon is Burgundy Velvet by May Arts.

Still no word from the winner of the Curlz Font & Border Kit . So....I'm putting it back on the offering block. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post, or any post after this one between now and Sunday evening. I will announce the winner then.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a fabulous Friday!

Woo Hoo!

The new JustRite products arrived! When I got home from the office there were two HUGE boxes on my doorstep, so I've been busy getting them in the store for you. And I must say...they are just AWESOME!

There are about 4 products I ordered that haven't shipped yet...dang it! I hope they will be here soon. But in the meantime, we have LOTS of new toys to play with! I just love it when that happens! :-)

I had a card ready to post tonight, but instead of writing that post I have been busy dealing with the new stuff. So I will be back tomorrow with the new card.

AND....the winner of the Curlz Font & Border Kit hasn't yet claimed her prize! Can you believe it??? If I don't receive a response by tomorrow night, we will have another go at it!

Thanks so much for stopping by. As I said, I will be back tomorrow night with a new card, and another giveaway if I haven't heard from the original winner.

Until then.....

The NEW JUSTRITE PRODUCTS have shipped, and I expect them in the store at Stamper's Dream in the next day or two. So please be sure to check back...okay?

Thanks to everyone for playing along. I read each and every comment, and enjoyed them so much! As of the time I did the random thingy, we had 783 entries. That just proves how much you love the JustRite Products ...AND blog candy!

I made a cute little card this afternoon that I could sent to the grands. The stamp is Stampendous Fluffles Musketeer .

I won't bore you with all the details since it's pretty self explanatory. The Robin's Nest Dew Drops on the bottom are from the Flame container.

I'm working on something else, so I will be back soon with another card.

Exciting Announcement and...."The Date"

First, I have a VERY exciting announcement for you. The fabulously talented and super sweet Denise ( Peanutbee on SCS) will be joining The Dream Team in November! Woo hoo! If you aren't already familiar with Denise, you MUST visit her blog, The Paper Landscaper . Denise is currently a member of the Dirty Dozen at Splitcoast. She and her husband of 10 years live in Southeastern Pennsylvania and are the proud parents of two sweet little girls, fondly nicknamed Peanut and Bee.

Welcome, Denise! I am thrilled that you will be joining the already awesome Dream Team, and I can't wait for you to get started! :-)

Today is the last day you can register for one of the Dreamy Treats. I am giving away a C-45 Monogram Stamper to one lucky winner. And since my counter went over 100,000 hits, I am also going to give away a Curlz Font and Border Kit . This is your fourth and last chance to register...so be sure not to miss out! I will post the two lucky winners tomorrow night. Keep your fingers crossed that Ike doesn't take away my Internet connection! The winds have really picked up here in the last hour or so!

Okay....because MANY of you asked, I'm going to give you a few details about *the date*. Gosh, I'm sure glad he doesn't read my blog! LOL!

Since I didn't receive any counsel from Paperlicious I had to wing it. I finally settled on what to wear. It was a scoop neck top with a matching short skirt. I chose that because I have big boobs, and am always complimented on my legs. Mind you, all the parts in between leave a lot to be desired! I wore my favorite Sex In The City heels, and felt as if I was pretty presentable. I also made sure I smelled really good. Men tend to like that, as I best recall.

He arrived on time. So far, so good. The first "issue" was that he had changed his mind about where we should go to dinner. He wanted Chinese food, and asked me if that was okay. It wasn't. Then he suggested Italian food, and I agreed. He opened my doors, and did all the right things to show me he is a gentleman. I like that, and quite frankly it's required so far as I'm concerned.

Before we left for the restaurant he asked for a tour of the house. Fortunately I had made my bed that morning and didn't have any dirty underwear laying on the floor! When we got to my studio I heard him gasp. I could tell he hadn't a clue even before he asked. I showed him a card I made recently, then showed him the rubber stamp I used to make it. His reply was, "Well I'll be damned!" What does that tell you???

The restaurant was quiet and nice. We have many friends in common, so we had a lot to talk about. He brought me up to date on what's going on with many of them that I haven't seen in a while. Then the subject of politics came up, so I asked him what he thought about the Presidential race and Sarah Palin. It kinda went downhill there for a bit!

When we left the restaurant he took me to his house to show me his collection of antique cars. He has two separate garages that are about 4,500 sq ft EACH, and they are filled with probably 35-40 antique cars, and 3 Harleys. There is NO TELLING how much all that cost, nor what it's worth. And I thought MY hobby was expensive!

He is a big Harley Davidson guy, so I asked why he has three Harleys. He replied that if one is good, two is better...and three is perfect. He said the next time we go out he would like to pick me up on one of them. ARE YOU KIDDING ME????? I have been behind a Harley before and seen the butt of the woman riding on the back. Even the skinny girls butts look huge sitting on those things! I don't EVEN think I need to expose mine like that! And do you know what those helmets do to your hair?

All things considered, it was a nice evening. Good company, good conversation (except for the Palin thing), and a great meal.

Will I ever hear from him again? Who knows! Men can be fickle.

Thanks for stopping by! I will be back tomorrow night (Ike willing) with the two winners!

Not According To Plan...

My day has not quite gone according to plan. I planned to redo this card last night because I wasn't happy with the sponging. I planned to do a lot of other things that now seem to be on the back burner. You see, I had a phone call....from a man....who wants to come get me and take me to dinner at a nice restaurant. We're not talking McDonald's here, girlfriend! We're talking valet parking! You must understand that I'm 50 something years old. I have been divorced for 30+ years, and have not dated in a while. Quite frankly, it's not even on my list of things to do before I die! I have two grown sons, 6 grandchildren, a very demanding REAL job, a blog, my own webstore, and the best design team in the universe. What else could one want? I don't have time for this. I have a life and real things to do...that are important! Like stamping!

My first thought was to write to Paperlicious . She would know exactly what to do, and which questions to ask to see if he's worthy of my precious time. But since time was of the essence, I was afraid I wouldn't have time to receive her reply. So I said yes....I will go to dinner with you. If Paperlicious has advice for me, I need it quickly. I fear that he doesn't know the difference between red rubber and photopolymer, or pigment and dye ink. And I won't even speak of hybrids. If he thinks rubber stamping is putting a return address on an envelope, that just may be a deal breaker. I cannot raise and educate yet another child! He is also a Methodist and fellow Republican, but I know there is much we cannot discuss without emotion. What if he doesn't like Sarah Palin??? What WILL we find to talk about?

So last night I spent hours plucking, shaving, delousing and chiseling off layers of old nail polish so I could replace it with a fresh coat. You know the drill. Geez...what A LOT of work! This meal had better be damned good! Should I order the 16 oz sirloin with a loaded baked potato? Or go for only a dainty side salad, then eat when I get home because I'm still starved? Do you think I could order a double shot of tequila? Or should I just stick with mineral water? So much to deal with! What's a girl to do?

But I KNOW you didn't come here to listen to my woes, now did you?

On to the card...you know, the one that I didn't have time to redo the sponging?
The stamp I used for the main image is Penny Black's Pine Cones . I colored on the rubber using Tombow markers, then spritzed with water using a JudiKins Extra Fine Mist Spritzer . It was stamped on Neenah Solar White cardstock. I sponged the edges with Ranger Distress inks.

Then I mounted it to Herbal Green Prismatics cardstock and added Chocolate Pearls to each corner. I LOVE those pearls!

The sentiment, also from Penny Black, is called Merriest Christmas .
I stamped it using VersaMark Ink then embossed with JudiKins Malachite embossing powder. It was cut out with a Spellbinders Petite Oval and sponged with Ranger Distress inks.

The designer paper is new from the Memory Box Frost paper collection. The ribbon is May Arts .

Now...for those of you who have been paying attention and actually reading my posts, here's a little reward for you. (Lord knows you deserve it after reading all this!) I'm going to sweeten the pot by adding a second prize if my counter reaches 100,000 hits before the drawing on Sunday! The second prize is a Curlz Font and Border Kit. How sweet is that??? If you leave a comment on this post, you get yet ANOTHER chance to win one of the Dreamy Treats! Yep...that's right. This will be your third opportunity to register for one of the two prizes, so you can definitely increase your odds! Any comment will do...you decide. I'm too stressed! I have to go fluff my hair and get all gussied up for "the date". He will be here soon.

Thanks for stopping by.....

The winner will be announced Sunday evening. On this post, please tell me how you found the Dreamy Treat opportunity, and what is your favorite accessory for the JustRite stamper.

Did you know that we have a card gallery on the store's website? One section is just for JustRite Projects . Be sure to check it out!

Some of the NEW JUSTRITE PRODUCTS are in the store NOW! The rest of the new products arrived in their warehouse today and they have already started shipping them. I am crossing my fingers that they will be here Friday evening. I also ordered more of the JustRite stampers and some more accessories...so let's hope they arrive on Friday as well.

Tosh Saturday 9/13

Now...is that what you came here for? Or did you really want to see a card? LOL! This stamp is from one of my favorite stamp companies, the Artful Stamper . Their images are just adorable, and they are sooooo much fun to color. The name of this stamp is Cat Nap .
I stamped it on watercolor paper using VersaMark Ink and embossed with JudiKins Detail Gold embossing powder. The stamped image was colored with Tombow (water based) markers. I used a damp paintbrush for blending and shading.
I stamped again on watercolor paper and cut out the head and holly so I could pop them up for dimension. You can see the dimension in the last photo.

The white part of the Santa Hat is White Liquid Applique sprinkled with Art Institute Crystal glitter. (I will have the glitter in the store soon.)

Gosh, I didn't mean for this post to be so long...but I had a lot to tell you!

Thanks so much for stopping by...and don't forget to register for the Dreamy Treat! Someone is going to win, and it could be you!

Christmas Joy!

Sorry I'm so late posting tonight. I've had a horrific weekend! And as soon as I finish this post I am off to take a LONG hot bubble bath with a glass of wine. Do you think it will help? Well...it CERTAINLY won't hurt! LOL!

I really like this card. Maybe it's the colors that appeal to me so much. I'm not sure. The blue cardstock is Cobalt Blue Prismatics . I paired it up with a little lavendar cardstock to match my embellishments.

The sentiment is Hero Arts Pattern Joy . I stamped it on Neenah Solar White cardstock using Danube Blue Memento ink. Then I cut out the "J" and the "Y", and colored the dots and swirls using Prisma colored pencils.

I replaced the "O" in Joy using my Spellbinders scalloped circles. The embellishment in the center is Hero Arts Felt Snowflakes . I placed a Baby Blue gemstone in the center.

The background stamps are from the Hero Arts Winter's Butterfly Clear Design set, stamped with Summer Sky Memento Dew Drops. I added a few more Hero Arts Gemstones to the center of the snowflakes for texture.

The border beneath the Joy sentiment is from Martha Stewart.

So...that's it for me tonight. I'm off to try to "chill out"! I hope you have a great week!

I got even more happy mail! My Copics arrived last night as well! Do you think I got enough of them? LOL! Okay....NOW what do I do with them??? I can assure you that I will be doing some experimenting this weekend. I can't wait!

Thanks for stopping by!

Ginger and Coco

Isn't this stamp the cutest thing???? It's another Artful Stamper stamp, and it's called Ginger and Coco .

I stamped it on watercolor paper using Onyx Black Versafine ink, then embossed with JudiKins Detail Clear embossing powder. The stamped image was colored with Tombow (water based) markers. The shading and blending was done with a damp paint brush.

I stamped the cup portion again on a scrap of watercolor paper, cut it out and popped it up to add a little dimension.

For the icing on the hands and feet I used White Opal Liquid Pearls, then put Stardust Stickles over the top when it was dry.

The tag was made with my Tag Trio set from Spellbinders. The word "Sweet" is from a Gina K stamp set called North Pole . It was tied with a piece of May Arts silver metallic string .. The brown cardstock is Suede Brown Prismatics , and the blue carstock is from the Baby Blue Prismatics collection, and the red cardstock is Classic Red prismatics.

Did you notice anything different about the two cards? If you did, then you aren't seeing things! LOL! On the second card I added dots of Baby Blue Liquid Pearls then sprinkled Crystal Art Institute Glitter over them. I just thought it was too plain without those. But now I'm not sure if I like it better or not.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you're all having a great week!

Holly Chickadee

Nope....it's not an Artful Stamper card! Are you surprised? LOL! I decided to do something a little different today since I had the day off work and a little time to play. This is my FIRST EVER attempt at Prisma pencils with odorless mineral spirits. I still need some practice, but it is a fun technique and I enjoyed trying my hand at it.

The stamp is Impression Obsession's Holly Chickadee . I stamped it on Neenah Solar White cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black ink.

I used my new Argyle Cuttlebug folder for the background layer, which is the medium color in the Prismatics Herbal Garden paper pack. The card itself is the darker green from the same collection. I then used a VersaColor Green Tea ink cube to highlight the embossed areas.

The red cardstock is Classic Red Prismatics , and the ribbon is Red Woven Iridescent by May Arts. The gemstones are Kaiser Craft Clear .

I will be getting another day off work tomorrow! They have decided to close the Parish Courthouse where I work in anticipation of a tropical storm here. We are playing it by ear for Wednesday, depending on what happens tomorrow. It's really NOT the way you hope to get a day off...KWIM? So we will all batten down the hatches and pray for the best. I moved all plants and outdoor furniture up under the patio. My cell phone is fully charged, and the car is full of gas. Other than that, there isn't much I can do to prepare.

Thanks for your thoughtfulness and kind words. I will be back as soon as I can.

Until then.......
